Center a ball of clay.        Pull toward you to make the opening.    Raise and thin the walls.

Measure the opening.    Make a lid the same size, and set aside.

Make a spout as tall and thin as possible. Trim the extra clay off the bottom

of the teapot and the lid, and check for fit.    The pieces, ready to assemble.

Cut off the bottom of the spout at a sharp angle, and trace against the pot.

Bore holes for the tea leaf strainer, press spout in place, and decorate pot.

Cut spout at a slight angle.    Wet a piece of clay, pull a handle, and attach.

The completed, damp teapot; a pot that is pink because it has been bisque-fired to 1900 degrees to make it hard enough to dip in glaze; a completed, green-glazed teapot fired to 2300 degrees.
